True Blood - Pack of Wolves 6/13/10 *Spoiler*

Great 1st episode. I thought Bill was gonna "heal" the old lady.

Jason seeing bullet holes in the women's heads was hilarious. But him admitting it was even more hilarious!!

Twilight can't hold a candle to True Blood. And now that they're introducing Werewolves...fuhgeddaboudit!!

I like the way this season is starting off. I love that they use real wolves and didn't opt for CG like what I saw in the commercial today for the new Twilight movie--I actually laughed out loud at how fake that crap looked. TB did it right. I'm curious to see what the wolves want with Bill.

I also laughed at Sam having sexual dreams about Bill. I guess it makes sense because Sookie and Lafayette have dreams about Bill and Eric, but they also both like men so I thought that had something to do with it. I have a feeling we're gonna see a very graphic sex scene between those two, which should make the female fans lose their minds (whereas I personally wouldn't mind more of Svetlana the Stripper, or whatever her name is.....).

I liked Jason and Andy at the end of last season, and I think the writers found a cool way to sort of compound that friendship. I like the way Eggs' death is having serious repercussions on both of them. Jason was almost unbearably stupid until the second half of season two, so it'll be nice to see the character actually grow a bit. It still amazes me that the actor is australian.

Man I feel bad for Tara. She's a bit annoying but she just keeps getting screwed. Her mother is an absolute nut job, then her other mother-figure manipulates her into eating someone's heart and possesses her, then the guy she loves is shot in the head... I like that Lafayette is stepping up to help her--their relationship is part of the heart of the show.

I'm not following the Queen's reasoning for selling V... I guess it has something to do with her being broke but it just seems weird considering their laws on doing it. I don't know how vampires roll but why does she need money? If she's a "queen" in their world, wouldn't everything be provided for her? Just seems like an odd motivation to break one of your society's most sacred rules.

Glad this show's back on. Not much to watch over the summer.

So the magistrate is higher up on the food chain than the queen?

Bill is not a very good teacher/maker for Jessica, is he? How could he not have already taught her about the shiver call thing?

Poor Jessica. I've lost track of the number of times people have called her a whore. It really sucks (ugh) to be a teenage vampire struggling with impulse control.

The Queen is not the sharpest tack in the box, is she? You have to wonder how she became so powerful. Is it just her age? If so, one wonders how she managed to live so long -- it seems like she is going down this season. I did not get the impression that other vampires paid tribute to the Queen. I think she must have been living beyond her means and now she is tapped out. Which again demonstrates that she is not very smart -- given hundreds of years it should not be hard to accumulate a great deal of wealth.

Do you think Bill knew he was in werewolf county? His reaction to hearing Mississippi seemed significant. Was the guy in the car with a werewolf tatoo a werewolf? If so, it seems werewolves are not very tough, to be killed by a car crash. Although I guess the other 3 (?) in the car survived, but not in good enough shape to stop Bill, who was already weakened. Maybe werewolves are sissies in human form, but much tougher in wolf form?

Whenever I see the scenes with the male vampire super-speed humping a human woman, all I can think is, I wondering if they are using some super lube? I shudder to think about the burns that might be inflicted if things ever got a little dry...

Remember when Eric got Sookie to drink his blood and she had dreams about him?

Sam drank Bill's blood.

Although I'm not clear on the difference between that and drinking "V".

It might have something to do with the fact that when you drink V, there's no vampire brain attached to the blood to bond with...

I doubt it...unless werewolves are dealing in V.

In many vampire mythologies, the humans who work for or are servants to vampires have tattoos like that. Seems to me that those guys were similarly servants to werewolves.

Why would werewolves need the same kind of servants as vampires? Vampires are helpless during the day and super-powerful at night. Sam certainly appears to be able change shape on demand---if other weres can do the same, then they would be at more-than-human power 24/7...

Something like this. But this is not the only difference we have seen between fresh V and V from a bottle. It seems fresh V is not quite so potent as people like Sookie, Lafayette, and Sam do not get raging erections or whatever women experince on V overdose than like someone who drank too much from the bottle like Jason did. I think it might be something where some proerties degenerate with age and othe properties increase in power the longer after removal from the vampire body.

I don't know what was up with that dream Sam had of Bill, but I wasn't complaining.

This vampire hierarchy is very confusing. You'd think the Queen would be the highest ruler, but she has to answer to the Magister?

Last season I thought that Godric was the oldest and most powerful vampire, but then he had to cave to that TV lady. But was Godric older than the Queen? Why wasn't he King? I guess he ruled Dallas or Texas, and she rules Louisiana? Is there a Queen/King over every state? I need a vampire flowchart.

You know, if Sam can change into a fly, a dog, and a gigantic white bull, it seems like it should be easy for him to look like a human woman. I wonder why he never takes alternate human forms.

So far the servants Eric has don't seem to be doing much during the day on his behalf; they seem to exist solely for his various hedonistic needs. At least these guys were actually trying to do something useful!

I was thinking about that, too. I thought there were 4 guys in the car in addition to Bill, and as you say, Sookie found only 1 body, so that leaves 3 guys who must have crawled out of the car after Bill did. But it seemed like there were 5 wolves. So either the guys from the car met other wolves, or else the 5 wolves in the woods were not the guys in the car. I think either is possible. Bill must have spent several hours walking from the car and in the old woman's house, so time enough for the guys from the car to walk to and meet other people.

Don't forget that there was also an actual day that passed from Bill's escape to the point when the wolves caught up to him.

I guess Bill is lucky the werewolves did not follow his scent and then dig him up and get him while he was still weak.

Bill was bleeding. At least they could track that.

And a lot of things have a scent. I'm sure the outside soles of Bill's shoes are not scentless.

Also, they could combine scent with human tracking techniques (footprints, disturbed undergrowth, broken twigs, etc.)

It was mentioned last season that Godric was the oldest vampire on this continent. Which implies the most powerful in America. As we saw last season, Godric had grown indifferent to his own continued existence and "life" in general. Godric allowed himself to be captured and held by humans (he could have escaped anytime he wanted). It could be argued that Godric didn't seek a position of power or authority that his age/power truly entitled him to. He seemed content with his "small" area of the country that he was in control of.

I thought Godrick was King of Texas, and she is Queen of Louisiana. Maybe she lost her wealth during Katrina. Was her headquarters in New Orleans?
