Were you satisfied with the Lost Finale? (Spoilers Allowed)

This thread is for after the show. I wanted to see where everyone stood with the finale and if the producers did a good job of making the TCF happy. I assume someone else will start an actual show thread so I will just link to this thread from my first post in the show thread, but for anyone wanting to post comments specific to their satisfaction of the finale please feel free to share your thoughts here. Also please be aware after this post spoilers will be allowed.

By the way, I am so excited right now.

Other, because I already paid to see this movie in 1997 when James Cameron made it. Also, it did not have a 9/10 scale boat in it.

I have an iPhone.

Otherwise, I long since stopped caring about the show, though I almost watched the ending in honor of my wife since she had been continuing to watch the show. I stuck with not caring because I stopped watching so long ago that I figured I'd be lost myself on who all the players were.

No, I'm not. One of the answers was the exact answer I wanted, so I checked it.

But you set it up so that someone could check multiple boxes (ie a multiple choice poll).

Well, some of those answers aren't mutually exclusive. For instance, picking 1 and 3 would be valid.

Whoops.

Must have got click happy opening the poll. Oh well. I expect people will be able to easily settle on one of the above options.

Completely satisfied!

Still thinking on it all. But, absolutely, I'm satisfied. These characters, this story, the crazy island, all of it has kept me greatly entertained for many years... I'll miss it.
Sure, there's more they could have provided - it doesn't lessen anything that they didn't do so.

Satisfied, quite satisfied. Annoyed at the idiots being interviewed at a Lost viewing party on NEWS 10 though. Dude sitting there with his Dharma jumpsuit crying. Heh.

As I said in the episode thread, the finale accomplished exceedingly well everything it tried to do. It didn't try to do everything, but I think that's for the best.

I voted the last choice.

Copied and pasted from the episode thread:

I think the ending emotionally was profoundly satisfying, and intellectually was profoundly unsatisfying. All those moments of awakening were great, and really well-done. But in the end, the whole sidewaysverse seems like just a pretty flimsy excuse to have all those great moments of awakening. I couldn't even tell (and here I may be smeeking) if it was really a communal experience for the dead people (and how on Earth does that make any sense? Why would they go to that moment, a moment that never happened, a moment that the version of which that did happen many of them never participated in in the first place?); the way they presented it, it felt more like Jack's dying hallucination. The entire sidewaysverse was just Jack lying in the jungle fantasizing about what might have been and resolving his issues.

Still, a lot of truly powerful moments. I just wish they'd done more to earn them intellectually, instead of just emotionally. Yes, Lost was primarily about the characters, but that doesn't mean you can ignore the story completely, and I feel like with the sidewaysverse, that's exactly what they did.

Which is me harping on the negative. Still, one of the very best shows ever, with an ending that was almost but not quite worthy of it!

It's like the writers couldn't come up with a decent explanation and ending so they just died.

Oh well! The ride was good but the destination is a letdown.

Yeah, I have to agree. Really didn't care for the ending at all and it just left too many questions unanswered (doesn't matter whether or not that was the intent, still didn't like it). But the series was enjoyable over the years.

Not happy at all - too many questions unanswered. A lot of people have posted on the other review thread saying that you're a hater if you didn't like the ending. My problem was, if you want to make a more purely action-based show, without all these mysteries and sci-fi elements, that's fine. They could have done that with Lost and there wouldn't have been a need to come up with so many answers at the end. Instead, the writers chose to pose numerous questions and mysteries and really strung us along for 6 years, thinking that there would be some big "reveal" at the end. Trouble is, there wasn't. In some sense, they provided answers before the finale - the idea that Jacob was a good guy fighting against the evil Man In Black. I liked that part. It just feels like they had some more things to answer in the finale but chose not to do that.

My thoughts exactly. I was wondering if I would be the only one who felt that way.

Why were Penny and Desmond in the church? They weren't on the plane. Where the hell was Analucia?

Anna Lucia was the cop that dropped Sayid and Kate off to Hurley. He asked Desmond if she was coming and Desmond said "she's not ready".

I figured Desmond was there because he was on the island and involved that way. I wondered though, if Penny was there, why couldn't Helen be there for Locke? Just because of Penny's involvement with Widmore and maybe it's in her blood/genes?
