HD XL - Verizon FIOS - Audio Dropouts?

I am seeing frequent audio dropouts on HBO, Showtime, and sometimes on other channels. I have Tivo HD XL with the latest firmware. I use Verizon FIOS. What could be the problem? How can I solve this? Is it a FIOS or Tivo issue?

For example, I was watching The Pacific tonight and there were a lot of audio dropouts. I mean, probably one every 5 minutes.

I also see this on other channels as well.

I appreciate any help you guys can offer.

No replies? Hmm... If this isn't the right place to ask the question, please let me know. I thought about posting this to a FIOS forum, but thought that this forum is much more traveled.

No one else is experiencing audio dropouts with FIOS?

I have been reading about attenuators. The FIOS installer put on a 6db attenuator. I now have that off which seems to improve the picture artifacts I was seeing, but I still have the audio issues. Do I need more attenuation? Would that solve the issue? Where do I get more of these attenuators?

Are you using a receiver or is sound going through the TV speakers?

There is a troubleshooting sticky in the help forum. Give it a shot. I don't remember the steps but there is a way to try to figure out if the problem is your hard drive or something else.
