The Pacific, "Part 5", 4/11/10

Now that was some action. I kept looking for similarities between the landing scene and the Saving Private Ryan opening scene, but they did a great job at making them different.

Not enough. I was so over the stupid shaky camera when I watched Private Ryan. But they continue to use that same technique to this day. What a joke.

Nice to see them finally return to some fighting though. I'm getting really let down by all this personal interest story crap. They put a few sex scenes in just to keep us watching but it's still getting old real fast. Might as well be watching soaps.

I've been in the mood to see a good WWII battle movie for months and this hasn't satisfied that interest, not by a long shot. Everybody is so wrapped up in trying to win an award that they can't seem to just make a good war movie. What a bunch of losers.

Maybe I'm going to have to pull out the DVD for Windtalkers.
