Music Functionality?

I have 3 series 2 boxes with lifetime, one has been mothballed because of my frustration with the music.

I want a simple interface for listening to music. I tried Tivo desktop and JR Media Center to feed Tivo.

Tivo desktop only lets you browse by folder, not by genre or artist. So you can navigate to \music\rock\radiohead to listen to all of your Radiohead music, but you don't get any of the songs in the \music\rock\various artists\ compilations that also have Radiohead songs.

JR Media Center allows you to browse by artist or genre and supports all of the playlists, but god help you if you ever want to skip a song. If you press the skip button, it will stop automatically going to the next song. You have to manually press next at the end of each song after that. Very annoying.

So my 2 questions are:

1. Does Tivo premiere let you navigate through your music collection in a new way, or is it still the old "folder based" navigation?

2. Does anyone know about support for Tivo Premiere off of Windows Home Server?

Just use galleon which allows you to do exactly what you want.

Or another HME-based music player, right. These will all work with your existing Series 2. There's no change in the music handling in the Premiere so far, that I can tell. Also, don't blame J River for the skip problem -- that's a TiVo-side bug that affects (AFAIK) all HMO-based players.

Other HME-based players include Harmonium and AudioFaucet. Unlike Galleon, these are strictly for music.
