Question about wishlist filtering by year.

Hello all.

I have a wishlist set up to record everything in the category "Comedy: Standup".

Recently, I have noticed that I am getting a lot of old shows (that I have already watched) some going as far back as 1996.

I tried to modify the wishlist by adding "2010" as a regular keyword (not a title keyword) to make the wishlist only record shows that first aired in 2010.

After I did this "view upcoming recordings" shows no shows.

However, if I remove "2010" as a keyword, and look at "view upcoming recordings", I can see three shows that have an original air date in the year 2010.

Is there something I'm missing here?

This blurb from the tivo site makes it seem that I'm doing exactly what I should be doing.

"With a Keyword search, the TiVo service looks for your keywords in the show or episode title, description, actor, director, year, and category information. A Title search looks only at show and episode titles."

Although it shows up as if it's in the description in the program information, I think the year is actually in a separate field in the guide data.

Using the year as an option is only available in the movie category.

Correct.
For some reason TiVo wishlists will search the guild data field 'Movie Year', if it's present, but don't search the field 'Original Air Date'.
And since non-movies don't have a movie year, they have a mm/dd/yyyy entry in the OAD field instead, searching by year(s) doesn't work for them.

After all this time I do wish TiVo would fix that so year searches would work like you'd expect.

Ahh that explains it.

It would be a useful feature though.
