Series 3 Rewind skip problem

Have an original Series 3 and can't seem to get the rewind 'skip' to work -- that is start to rewind and then hit the reverse skip button to go back 15 mins or whatever.

Mostly want to rewind a program that I started back to the beginning without having to fast forward to the end.

I have a Harmony 1 and have activated 30 second skip.

Searched back over 2 years and can't find a reference that fits my problem.

Any help out there?

From the FAQ:

How do I skip forward 15 minutes at a time?

TiVo places "ticks" on the progress bar every 15 minutes. To skip to the next 15min tick, you fast forward and then press the -->| button. While fast forwarding, each press of -->| button will skip forward 15 minutes.

You can also skip backward to the previous 15min tick by rewinding and then pressing the same -->| button. While rewinding, each press of -->| button will skip backward 15 minutes.

Note: Tick marks are spaced every 30 minutes for recordings 3.5 hours to 6 hours, and every 60 minutes for recordings 6.5 hours and longer. Skip-to-tick only works on programs selected from the recorded list. It does not work on liveTV programs unless you are recording them.

First, looking at the posted FAQ, are you trying to do this with live TV?
If not, try using the Tivo remote. If it works with the Tivo remote, then you know you have a problem with the Harmony.
If the Tivo remote doesn't work, then I suggest rebooting the Tivo next.

OK, figured it out based on your comments. (BTW I did read the FAQ before posting).

Not intuitive to hit rewind, then hit the skip forward button to skip back. I was hitting the skip backward button instead.

I agree. Rewind then Replay would be more intuitive to invoke the "skip to tick" function.
