Lifetime upgrade discount only from TiVo for preorder?

Does anyone know if the lifetime upgrade discount ($199) will only be available for pre-orders? Secondly, can you get the upgrade only if you order bundled with a Premiere from TiVo.com?

I want to get a Premiere but maybe not by the end of the month and I might want to buy from Best Buy to use some discounts / gift cards but don't want to miss out on the $200 discount for lifetime.

i was told that the $200 discount on the lifetime service was only if you bought a box through tivo, but i have no idea about the timing...

Through TiVo is the way lifetime service pass through worked in the past. Series 1 to Series 2 to Series 3. All ordered through TiVo
