Updated hardware soon?

The other forums here are abuzzin with the talk of TiVo Inc. either releasing details of a hardware refresh of the Series 3/HD or possible Series 4...I wonder if TiVo Inc. were to release a newer hardware platform, if we would see a newer revision to the Hybrid TiVo units?

Personally I would like to see a slimmer unit, as the current TiVo unit is probably the bulkiest piece of hardware in my home entertainment system.

Hybrid have to pay development costs for Au/NZ units, so I think it is unlikely we will see anything really new for a while.

My guess would be that they would likely share the development on the UK units once they start up.
