Why is Tivo recording repeats?

Tivo HD.
Cablevision on Long Island.
Star Wars: Clone Wars on Cartoon Network (ch 32 non-hd).
Season Pass to record first run only.
Description clearly shows it as a repeat and I saw it already about 2 months ago. Last week, the same thing happened.
I have Do Not Record Tivo Suggestions checked.
Yet for some reason, it is recording Star Wars: Clone Wars repeats.

Suggestions

Most likely they're TiVo suggestions.

If they are suggestions, they show up with a different icon on the Now Playing list.

Assuming they DON'T show as suggestions, it sounds like bad guide data.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Every time last night's episode "The Deserter" is rerun my tivo wants to record it even though I have a season pass for first run episodes only.

As jsmeeker said it is most likely bad guide data. TiVo does not use the (R) in the description to decide if it is a rerun. It uses the original air date. In the Now Playing list go to one of the recordings and hit the right arrow to get to the screen that has Play, View Upcoming Episodes, etc. From there hit the Enter key. It will bring up a screen with more info on the episode: Episode Number, Original Air Date, Director, Guest Stars, etc. IIRC if Original Air Date is missing TiVo will automatically record it since it does not know if it is old or new.

If these repeats all have the same generic program description, you can probably eliminate them as instructed here. That tells TiVo to ignore all episodes of that particular program with a generic description.
