Two folders for TiVo suggestions?

I've looked everywhere and haven't seen this asked before, so forgive me if I missed the thread.

I recently switched from basic cable to OTA. Now the TiVo is showing two folders for the suggestions it records - one called HD Recordings and one called TiVo Suggestions. I cleared out the suggestions folder thinking it was there because it was all the stuff previously recorded in analog on cable, but the next day it was back.

What gives? I'm new to OTA and still have an analog TV (planning on fixing that in short order!) so I'm not sure what the problem is. Everything should be in HD, shouldn't it? And, it looks like the same thing is sometimes in both folders.

I only scanned channels when I set up the antenna - I haven't deleted any yet, so I have 3 NBC's, 3 Fox's, and multiples of a couple others. Does that perhaps have something to do with it?

Any help is appreciated!

ETA: Forgot to mention I have a TiVo HD.

The HD Recordings folder is not for suggesitions. It is for any show that is on your TiVo which TiVo thinks is in HD (I say thinks becauseit is not always right). Any show in this folder is also somewhere else in your Now Playing list. It is just a way to group all HD Recordings together. To answer your next possible question, no, you can't remove it.

Not all shows are in HD just because you are using a TiVo HD. e.g. You can record the same show off ABC and ABC HD. The one from ABC will not be in HD. The one on ABC HD may be, but then again may not be. Confused yet? lol

Actually no, that makes sense. But isn't everyone supposed to be broadcasting in HD now?

And yeah, you did answer my next question. I was really hoping I could delete that folder. Figures.

Thanks!

For OTA in many markets, the only HD programming is prime time. There are also a few HD soap operas and some syndicated shows like Wheel of Fortune or Oprah. But, there is still a lot of SD programming out there.

OTA is now broadcast in a digital format. Digital can be in HD but it can also be in SD.

In digital, yes. In HD, No.
