Is my Hughes DVR Model SD-DVR80 Compatible with Comcast?

I have a Hughes DVR SD-DVR80 (with TiVo) since 2005 that was originally installed with my DirecTV service. I'm switching over to Comcast next week and they said it would cost $15/month to lease their DVR. Being the penny pincher I am, can anyone tell me if my DVR is compatible with Comcast? If not, is there a hack or firmware upgrade that will make it so?

I called Comcast and the girl who took my call didn't sound like she knew very much about how to answer my question and was quick to respond "no," because she said the menus were different.

Unfortunatly it isn't. It's only got satellite tuners, not the QAM tuner's it'd need for digital cable.

Crud ... my sales guy called me back and said they tech team said I just need a Comcast card. Does that sound any better? Probably not ... huh? Satellite tuners ... is there a way to check to see by opening it up or are you 100% sure?

It's a 100% certainty that you can not use that unit with cable (or Dish Network or an antenna). It is a DirecTV DVR, and only has the hardware for tuning DirecTV channels. You can not modify it in any way to make it work with other providers.
