I have acquired a second tivo which is still running on its original 2 quantum disks.
After reading on the forums I have bought a WD green power 500gb SATA drive WD5000AVVS and the recommended ide -> sata interface
I followed Steve Conrad's upgrade http://www.steveconrad.co.uk/tivo/upgrade3.html
to make a backup and then restore to the new disk. I ran copykern but the tivo will not boot with the new disk.
Things I have tried
- Confirmed disk capacity is correctly recognised by the linux cd
- repeated copykern to make sure that there were no errors
- tried both connectors on tivo IDE cable
- used mfsinfo to confirm the partitions exist on the new disk
I don't know what else i can do to diagnose the problem.
Can anyone give me some suggestions?
