Fringe 10/8
What a truly awesome episode. Way to step up the A game. I loved the small glimpse of Peter's heritage the old broad caught.

I really enjoyed this. I wonder if Peter's heritage will have a role to play in the storm.
Was that Latin that Bell told to Olivia to repeat to Peter? Anyone know what it means?

Charlie kicked the living crap out of Olivia and she walks away without a scratch? Other than that, a great ep.

I'm sure that Peter's abduction years ago is the catalyst for all of this and the "Other" Walter is the one waging the war.

Interesting, some thought like that briefly crossed my mind but it was more of, I wonder what Walter's alter is doing and if he knows Peter was abducted by him in another universe.

It's actually Greek: Na einai kalytero anthropo apo ton patera toy
Which roughly translates to: May he be a better person than his father.

Yes. Covered in the first episode of this season when Olivia was in the hospital.
Peter's mother used to say it to him before he went to bed.
"be a better man than your father" as a code for taking care of the people you care about.

And it seems that Bell knows that-I guess that Peter's mom is still alive Over There....

If your son was kidnapped by your doppelganger from another universe-and you were brilliant mad scientist-wouldn't your anger make you do anything to get him back?

It looked like Sebastian Roche to me.
If the rest of the series is like this, I have a new favorite show. I liked it before, but WOW. This was Fringe's "Walkabout".
OK a couple stupid observations.
- They're calling it the First Wave, so I guess Curtis was a Gua after all!
- Walter's a Yes fan, but he doesn't care much for Your Move.
- Physics is a bitch.

I agree, I'd completely overlooked the other Walter, but wow does that make sense, I'm totally hooked on that theory now.

Yeah, it does kinda make sense why this world's Walter easily understands the Fringe science behind these cases. His alter is coming up with it, so it's kind of like something he *could* have come up with.

great show...
only annoyance is that I could tell who the shape shifter was on the computer when it was at 60%...shouldn't an FBI person have done so as well?
I know, I knew who it was already so it was easy for me to see it...but you didn't need to get to 100% to do the match the way the dots were filled...
minor quibble, I know...

We knew, but they did not. And that would have been one of the last people Olivia would have expected it to be, so it's not like it would have immediately registered...

I always have a problem with alternate universes with the same cast of characters. Drives me nuts.

I was more annoyed by the fact that once they found out that what they thought was the shapeshifter's body was the real nurse's, they should have realized that the real Charlie who fired his gun at the shapeshifter would have known that the shapeshifter got away. Thus, the only other possibility was that Charlie was the shapeshifter.
I suppose maybe they thought that Charlie killed the real nurse by accident, but given the history of the shapeshifter's actions, I don't know why they would have thought the shapeshifter would have left her alive to run around.
At the very least, they should have been suspicious of Charlie.

And consider this-Over There the technology is slightly advanced. Our Walter was in a mental asylum for 2 decades while theirs was probably inventing stuff that entire time to get his son back.

Yeah, I've been trying to imagine a sane, evil Walter out to get our world. And the thought blows a fuse in my brain.

It's entirely possible Over There's Walter is perfectly sane. Then again, Over Here's Insane Walter stole Over There Normal Walter's son, which could make Over There's Sane Walter into Over There's Insane Walter.
