Bought a new Panasonic plasma TV and the HDMI connection worked great for several months. Then yesterday the HDMI signal died for no good reason. The HDMI cable works great with my Blu-ray player, as do the HDMI ports on the TV. Thought the HDMI port on the Tivo might have died, but when rebooting the HDMI video is perfect on the initial start up screen, then goes black.
I now have to use the component video cause no matter how many times I disconnect or reboot I cannot get the Tivo to change from the HDMI "not connected" status on the system information screen.
All I can say is HDCP & DRM are both LAME! They fail at protecting content from being copied and do nothing but cause random problems such as this

.
Just wanted to put it out there (AGAIN) that if your HDMI doesn't work, it is probably due to a stupid HDCP handshake problem.
I really don't want to go buy a stupid HDMI switch just to get a "virtual handshake" to work. SO FRUSTRATING!
