R10 Dvr

I have the directtv dvr r10. I am having direct tv set up right now (as I write this) they have told me that the DVR that I have will no longer work with the way they set up the system, something about a 1 line swim, only one line coming in and the r10 needs 2. Does anyone know how I could get around that?

If they are installing a dish that has a built-in SWM, then they are correct that it will not work with an R10. There is no way to convert the incoming line into something the R10 will use. Unless you're willing to pay for installation of an older-style dish, this may be the right time to retire the R10.

I'm surprised that you're getting a Single Wire Multiswitch (SWM) setup. That's usually only provided to new customers (because older equipment, like your R10 Tivo, isn't compatible), and only if you're getting at least 5 tuners of equipment (e.g. 2 DVRs and 1 Receiver).

Did you have this R10 from an old account?
