Historically they haven't done much for black friday, but since the Bolt is aimed at brining in new customers maybe they will this year.

The irony of TiVo promoting their white Bolt on black Friday would be hilarious.

But Black Friday has to do with profit. With Companies going from the red into the black from all the items sold.

Tivos has never been particularly giftable due to service fees. But now with a year included? Yeah kinda.

I seen this the other day and I found it again. The Bolt is listed in Amazon's Holiday gift guide. I suspect there maybe some type of Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal on the Bolt.

To spend $300 on what could be a one year gift, you kinda have to know who your giving it to, if they dump the unit after the year, it would be an expensive gift, like a gym membership for one year, plus in the TiVo case you have to give them your credit card to activate the Bolt, TiVo start charging in 12 months unless you (they) remember to call if you (they) don't want to pay for the service. Can be a pain for a non TiVo person you may gift to.

That brings up an interesting question. If you buy a Bolt from someplace other than TiVo does anyone have to give TiVo a credit card to use it? I don't think so, but would be nice to hear from someone who knows for sure.

You need to give them credit card info when activating it. So the person that received the TiVo as a gift could do that when activating a TiVo from a retail store. WHen you activate it you need to decide whether you purchase All In for $600 or use the one year of included service and have TiVo Automatcially charge you $150 at the end of your year of service.
