Opera Browser considers sale

http://www.pcworld.com/article/29689...ectations.html

Just an interesting article about lower then expected revenue at Opera and speculation that they may be looking for a buyer.

It begs the question of this will impact TiVo and their choice of the Opera browser / store.

I am generally a TiVo fan, but I don't think TiVo would bring Opera much value or vice versa.

But TiVo has a lot invested in the Opera platform. They may need to buy them to insure the current platform keeps working.

Very true... It is hard for us to quantify the amount of time, effort and configuration that has gone into getting the core apps to work with TiVo.

It would be nice (and a very naive request) for TiVo dump opera and go with a better supported App Store - like android.

The onepass integration makes TiVo unique...

They could go with Android or they could also consider integrating Roku software, if possible, just like some TV manufacturers have done.
