King Write's for "Under the Dome"

WILMINGTON, N.C. — The fictional Maine town of Chester's Mill is "Under the Dome" for a second season, and author Stephen King, on whose novel the popular show is based, has written the first episode for this summer's run.

The CBS miniseries that led the ratings much of last summer returns for another 13 episodes beginning Monday (10 p.m. EDT), with King telling viewers that no one in Chester's Mill is assured of making it through the season alive.

Interesting. Having him write the first episode of each season may help keep things on track and not go too off the rails.

I don't know, several other stories he did left tremendous loose ends. Often he seems to kill the aliens before even knowing if they might be good, or even ones still asleep. Still pissed over "the tommyknockers". I sure hope aliens don't watch any of his shows. They would arrive with an attitude, for sure. If he only writes the first episode, yeah that may be fine, it's the endings he doesn't know how to do.

Write's what?

Oh, you meant 'writes'. Ok.

Hard to imagine anyone actually writes this show.

You must have a vastly different concept of "not go too off the rails" than most of us.

I'm looking forward to its return. Hopefully it's just as silly and stupid as last summer.

I learned that the hard way after getting suckered by the cover art on "Colorado Kid".

I hope they figure out an interesting direction to go, but I suspect it will still be "Under the Dumb". But who am I kidding, I'll still watch since it's still in the so-bad-it's-good category

I'm looking forward to watching it. But I'm a King fan, Late Last Night and The Night before...

I only made it about three episodes last year before giving up but I enjoyed the heck out of reading the threads!

I swore I'd never watch another episode when this ended last year.

I lied.

{no spoilers, just commentary}

Didn't work.

The only good thing to come from this show... the weekly TCF thread.

I just finished up watching Season 1 and enjoying the snark in the episode threads.

About to start watching S2, so I can enjoy some fresh new 2014 snark, but before I do I'm going to go out on a limb with something that just occurred to me---

Spoiler:
Do you suppose that the place where the egg got dropped into the lake is anywhere near where Max's mom's body wound up?

Maybe Mare Willingham will be picking up a few more paychecks from these people after all.
