Video/Audio dropouts everywhere including menu screens

All of a sudden I have audio and video (pixilation) dropouts on all recordings and even the menu screens themselves on my TiVo Series 3. Everything is now unwatchable. Shows transferred to my computer show the same problem. Any ideas as to what's happening?

Do a kickstart with a drive test.

If it's the ANIMATIONS that are pixelating, it could be a hard drive failure.

If even the TEXT and stuff is pixelating, you've got a hardware issue.

Might not be the TiVo, it might be the cables or the monitor...
