Transfer between two TivoHD DVRs?

Hi all,

I've been searching around but can't seem to find a thread on this... I just got a second TivoHD for the bedroom. So I now have one in the main room and one in the bedroom.

I activated the new one on the multi-DVR discount and I made sure both were set to transfer and allow video downloads in the preferences.

I set it up last night and gave it overnight to update/etc and for the account to update. The new Tivo is getting TV just fine.

BUT... The new Tivo appears as "DVR" at the bottom of the "Now playing" list on the original Tivo. That looks great. But the reverse is NOT happening. The new Tivo does NOT see the older one...

Am I just not waiting long enough for it to appear?

Yeah it may take a few days to pan out. Just give it time.

Days? Ok... wow... Like I said my old TivoHD sees the new right away. But the new doesn't seem to know the OLD exists.

I also notice that the new doesn't seem to have a menu item for the media key... Could this mean it is not setup right?

You could try and force a few connections manually to see if that will help. Also, check the System Information screen. The TiVoToGo line should read "a,a,a".

I've done a few force connections and yes the TivoGoto line reads a,a,a...

I'm only concerned because I just know my wife being tired will want to fire up some cooking shows which are on the living room DVR while she is crashed in bed tonight... But I can't get it working that way yet...

Dang... I'll be in the doghouse again tonight...

It's probably not fully activated. Just give it time.

MRV may not be active yet. What version software is it running on?
The current version is v11.0. Try making several Tivo Service connections, may take up to 5 or so.

A low tech, but effective solution may be to unplug both TiVos. Reboot your router (unplug router, unplug modem, wait a minute or so, plug in router, plug in modem).

Then plug in each TiVo and let them reboot.

Has worked for me when I have this problem occasionally.
