Transfer Issues

I've got a Tivo Series 2 Dual Tuner and have been running a Macbook Pro with Roxio Toast Titanium 11 with Tivo Transfer (and pyTivox which I don't use) and have had no problems up until 2 weeks ago (approx.)

Tivo transfer can see my PVR and see the shows on it but when you go to transfer from the Tivo to the Mac the show queues up but stays in waiting mode for 2 or 3 minutes and then disappears as if it had been transferred.

I've tried rebooting the Tivo, my router (Tivo is wired directly into router) and the Mac. Still have the same problem. I would have said this is a network issues but Tivo transfer can see the PVR, can see the shows, but can't transfer them from the Tivo.

On the Tivo PVR side, I can see the folder where the files are and I can actually transfer from the hard drive to the PVR to watch them.

I don't think this has anything to do with Tivo no longer supporting Desktop for Mac and I am doubting it is a network issue. Any thoughts on why I can't transfer from the Tivo to my Mac?

Thanks, David

Why don't you try KMTTG instead of TiVo Desktop.

Thank for the suggestion. I have installed it and the various java programs and it's working! Now the newbie question, how do I get it to NOT decrypt anything and just keep the .tivo files exactly the same so I can move them back to the Tivo at a later date?

I've moved a couple of files onto the Mac and the Tivo doesn't see them now.

uncheck the box next to decrypt at the top of the kmttg window

Got it, thanks. What encoding profile should I use - ff_tivo_sd?

If the video will only reside on your tivo or your computer, you don't have to encode it for anything. Just leave encode unchecked too.

That is what I do. You can always go back and decrypt/encode at a later date with KMTTG.
