Damages 1/7 "I Lied, Too" *spoilers*
Looks to be another great season. Wonder how long before Ellen reveals herself to Tom and tries to swing him.
Ted Danson's great. "Yeah, let's not shave. And y'know those tubes? I know I don't need them anymore, but when she comes, could we stick a couple up my nose?"

I agree. A great start to a new season. I'm glad they kept the narrative device of the future mystery. It will be interesting to see how they get to the point where Ellen is willing to shoot someone. And I wonder who it could be?!

It almost makes me wonder if Ellen is going to be the sort-of bad guy and Patty the sort-of good guy...
And when does therapy buddy go psycho? 'Cause you don't hire Timothy Olyphant if psycho isn't called for!

It was great to see it back, but I sure needed the refresh of events. After watching it unfold backwards and then in real time and then forwards, and backwards..... I wish it was on BD already (spoiled watching during the writers strike), the FX HD looked horrible.
Glen Close had a really good face-lift, she looks 10 years younger without the "stretch".

I thought it was a good episode, too.
However, I do think that Glenn Close is beginning to look like a somewhat different person. Not obvious stretch, but she is looking a bit different these days.
Ted Danson, terrific.
Did you miss the 'recaps' on FX for Damages? They were in two parts, each about 9-10 minutes. Worth watching to catch up and put the pieces together again.

I liked Ted Danson better in this episode than I did all last season. He's proving himself to be a good dramatic actor, something I never expected from him. I guess I just haven't seen him in much else.
I will say this though: in Ellen's revenge fantasy, when Ted Danson was dragging himself around, am I the only one who thought, "...if you can hold your breath!"

The first season is already on BD, or did you mean you wish the new season is on BD? I rented the first season in preparation and was happy how well the show held up on repeat viewings. Even though I knew the outcome, it was still quite engaging and suspenseful. That says a lot about the show, that it is a lot more than just plot - excellent performances, cinematography, music, etc. All top notch.

I guess I was sort of vague, yes I did watch on BD when it was released, and did catch the recap. It was one of those shows I rented during the writers strike and really enjoyed it. I missed it the first time on FX.

When I saw the part he was playing, I immediately had two thoughts:
1) He's a plant in the therapy group hired by Patty and
2) He's the one Ellen is pointing a gun at in the forward looking scenes (only Lost has Flash Forwards, right?)

I think Olyphant is a plant by the old guy that does security stuff for Patty.
Patty approved him to continue following her, but we never saw him again, so i think this is his way to follow her.

I think the opening episode of season 1 was such a grabber, with this cute girl covered in blood and getting arrested for murder.
This one didn't grab as much, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

So you thought that Patty might have hired him (as I suggested one post earlier), but not that the old guy might have done so on her behalf? Man, I'm starting to feel like the Jan Brady of this thread. Smak, Smak, Smak!!!

No- never thought about Patty - or anyone ... hiring him to spy on Ellen.
