My original S2-140 HD died, and I replaced it with a WD 320GB drive, with SApper & InstantCake. Worked well until I had to upgrade the latest software slice. Long story short, it didn't work after the upgrade. The console output suggested a HD issue. I reapplied everything to the drive (fresh install), same thing. So, I returned the drive and got a new one. Still having the same problem. I ran the WD diagnostic tools against the drive, no issues found after running the five hour long duration test.
Is this possibly a power supply issue? If so, what are the options for replacement of a S2-140 supply? I also recently noticed some "deposits" on the power supply board. It's possible these are some sort of ceramic glue or something, but they just don't look "right" to me. Here are some images I took of the supply:
