just got a new tivo hd after being with dtv for years, had a falling out, so to speak with direct tv .
so I thought we would try tivo with cable, of course charter sent out a contract "tech" to install the card,
first he tells me he has never done this before, but his super said it was easy just call in a few numbers to activate it, & he would be done,
after 2 hours of helping him find the numbers, the person on the other end of the line he was talking to wanted a "cable card ID #" and a " host ID #" & a "data ID number"? we found the first 2 on screen but failed to find the Data #, this person on the other end said he wasnt able to authorize it without this number, we finally gave up & he left with me only getting the basic channels.
this is a scientific Atlanta multi stream card,
I called tivo cable card "hot line" & they said they were not sure what he was looking for. u know, thats charters problem.
any way I was hoping some one on here would know what number they were talking about.
they are supposed to come out tomorrow to try again.
