Someone please tell me where I recognize the owner of the company from. At first I thought maybe he was buffalo bill from silence of the lambs, but that's not correct.

There must be some production connection to the Riches. The kid from last week was the oldest son from the Riches, too.

Aside from the ridiculous way the scientist died, another solid episode. When did Charlie Crews have a dalliance with his ex-wife?

Life was my favorite new show last season, but I am not liking where it is going this season. The backstory has gotten relegated further and further to the background and the show has become more and more silly.
Last season, you truly understood Charlie's difficulties fitting back into the world outside of prison. This season he's pretty much just quirky and kooky - Monk-like, if you will. The tension with the old lieutenant (and other colleagues) not trusting him and trying to get him off the force is just gone, replaced by more kookiness from Donal Logue, who just undermines Charlie's appeal. Charlie's complex relationships with his lawyer and former partner also appear to have been gutted.

Who played Betsy? She looks familiar, but I can't place her, and there are no credits on IMDB yet.

Network execs want shows to be more standalone episodes where the average viewer can jump in without being lost. They tend to push shows in this direction. Especially when they aren't doing well. I understand the ratings for life keep dropping. And it's being moved to Fridays, usually a show's last chance. Of course dumbing down a show and moving nights only drive off the existing fans of a show, but network execs think it's a way to save shows.

and now the Riches is canceled..maybe they knew this and got jobs here !
I wonder why he didnt arrest his wifes husband for punching him? He's all procedural usually. Maybe he thought he would have a chance at the wife if he didnt.
Ok if the 'accountant' gets a job at the university, does this mean they are ramping up, or ramping down his place in the show?
Dinner with daddy was interesting..i love the frozen plate midair!

I love this show, but this episode was really bad. From the unrealistic frozen guy at the beginning to Charlie asking the new husband if he could sleep with his ex-wife. Then what's up with his lawyer turning on him? She was the one person who stood by him all these years and now she's claiming she never heard the killer admit he was working for Jack Reece? Okay, maybe that is foreshadowing for something in the future, but the whole episode just hit me wrong.
And softening up his partner with the new hairstyle and make-up just ruins her character IMHO...I agree they are dumbing down this show to appeal to the masses, which is a shame. The way NBC is treating it reminds me of how they killed off Boomtown in the 2nd season as well.

The partner isn't as gritty as she was last year. She had a drinking problem and was getting over drugs. She was picking up strangers in bars. Apparently looking for married men.
Now she's all clean and uninteresting.
But I still enjoyed the show.

Oh well, I can't argue the part about her cuteness.
I finally figured out who she reminded me of: Ellen Page of "Juno."

Also "Still Standing." He played (in later seasons) the next door neighbor whose family owned a brewery.

+1 on everything you wrote.
Life was the show I was most looking forward to this year. But this episode was just too silly.

Dunno, so far Life is the one show that I've enjoy this season. Sure, the death by freezing (and then shattering by Cruise) was pretty weak but overall, I liked the episode.

Not my favorite episode. Maybe I was distracted because I kept thinking it would be good to bring in the pie maker from "Pushing Daisies" to touch the pieces of the frozen guy. I wonder if he only touched one piece, would it bring back to life all the pieces or just the piece he touched.

Considering how often Crews' name appears on screen, you'd think people would get it right...

I'd agree with the general tone of the above comments. Part of what made this show appealling to me (aside from the hot women) was the complexity and depth of the storylines. Now it seems like just another CSI/Law & Order type show. I still like it, I guess, but not as much as I did.

Needs more Zen kinda stuff although the prison culture theme was good excepting the unreality of the psych prof's experiment. Me, I liked the smokin' hot redhead shrink 2 episodes ago. Wish I saved the HD DVR recording.
Do not show post to wife.
