I have my sky+ box in a cupboard that is about 5m as the wire flows from my TV , after trying to get by without Tivo i have decided that i need to start using it again howvere to do so I need a bit of tecnical help. I still want the sky box in the cupboard since it is the noise of the drive that is the problem.so I need to connect it to the Tivo and that leaves my choice to be putting the TIVO in the cuboard as well or having the TIVO by the TV. Good quality long scart lead I have but the problem is how to change the channels. I have got a RF2 through power link but the cable wont reach from the TV to the sky box if the tIVO is by the TV. Can i extend this somehow ?
Or is there a way of having an "eye" by the tV that can reach the TIVO if I put that in the cupboard so that the RF2 link can reach between TIVO and SKY box.
any suggestions

Thanks

Chris

I have to be honest and say that I've not used a sky box with my TiVo but if it was a freeview box that you wished to change channel on then extending TiVo's IR wands with a mono 3.5mm headphone extension cable should work OK. I can't see why it wouldn't work with a Sky box, can anyone else ?

Yup a 3.5mm "headphone" style extension cable will do the trick, I used to have a similar setup.

Or, put the tivo in the cupboard and get an AA cell RF extender to put in your tivo remote. I got one for mine and it works fantastically! Search for SV 1100 RF remote converter (or something like that) if you're interested...
