Brandon is who I thought last week but for some reason I thought Dylan. But didn't they say the father was in a foreign country? that would make sense for Brandon if he was in any form of government.

Many speculate it is Brandon, based on an exchange Kelly had on the phone with a "mystery person" and then Brenda.
I think last week, they hinted at Brandon but this week more Dylan. Absentee father with "issues" doesn't really fit Brandon's character, but fits Dylan perfectly.
I wonder if the writers have even decided yet who it is. It could come down to who is the first one willing to do a guest appearance on the show.
Somebody pointed out in the thread about last week's episode that if it was Brandon, the would be calling Brenda "Aunt Brenda." I had to agree with that -- it's not Brandon. So it's probably Dylan.
The producers apparently have said that they want to see how well the audience responds to Kelly and Brenda before they decide whether to bring more characters back from the original series. (Should we refer to that one now as 90210: TOS? )
I'm thinking Silver's going to be living with Kelly now. Amanda Bynes is going to be soooo jealous.

That is what Jennie Garth said in an interview. She said that *she* doesn't know yet, and that she thinks that it will end up being whichever one of them agrees to a guest shot.
If that's the case, my vote is on Brandon.

That's weird, I could have sworn I heard they had already decided who it would be, a couple weeks ago on one of those entertainments shows (ET, Access Hollywood, or one of those).
I wasn't happy to have it spoiled...but maybe it was just rumors.
Am wondering why, since everyone had plans for Friday night (including the parents), why they couldn't have done their Family Night on SATURDAY?
I said the same thing. Not Saturday night, even. Saturday during the day. Which is what they ended up doing with the kids cooking breakfast. I thought for sure the kids would say at the breakfast table that they like family time but think it would work better on Saturdays, and, see, isn't this great?
Seems to me that they are trying to position 90210 as the "anti-Gossip Girl," what with wholesome family values winning out by the end of the episode.
Here's a tip for you, kids -- drinking excessively for a lifetime will make you fat. Kelly and Silver's mom has not aged well.
So, who is Kelly's baby's daddy? They're making it sound an awful lot like Dylan. I wonder if they'll ever get Luke Perry for a guest shot.
Actually,
Spoiler:
according to the EW story, the father is not known but would likely end up being the first guy to agree to appear back on the show. Which Jason Priestly has said pretty much there is no chance he will do it. Apparently they don't want Ian Ziering at all, so it does leave Luke Perry as a top contender.
Could be Jake from "Melrose Place"? Stretch I know. Or Matt Durning (Played by Daniel Cosgrove) they were hot and heavy for 2 years on the show. Tho I think she met him after she graduated. But I don't think Daniel is on Dirty Sexy Money anymore, so he is available.
Ummm...I assumed it was Steve, given that mop of hair on the kid.
That's what I figured, based on the hair alone.
I'm really impressed you all remember so much about TOS! I watched it in HS but then drifted off somewhere near the end.

I've noticed a couple obvious holes like this one so far!
That bugged me a lot. I hate it when obvious solutions are ignored. Would it have killed them to put in a throwaway line about why it HAD to be Friday? Make it someone's birthday, or their traditional "family night" from Kansas (?) or something. If it was that jarring to me SOMEone on the writing staff must have noticed it.
The networks that are putting out new shows now are genius. I'm utterly hooked on 90210 & GG right now and I know the lack of competition is assisting them mightily!

Actually, IIRC, they DID say it was the tradition in Kansas to do Friday family night.
