Use Series 2 as a wireless bridge

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a Series 2 with the Tivo USB Wireless G adapter as a bridge? That is, plug another device in to the ethernet port on the Series 2 and have it bridge the connection through the Tivo wireless G adapter?

I happen to already have the Tivo USB Wireless adapter and I'd like to allow other devices to make use of the connection.

Thanks in advance,

jb

No, the Tivo is not capable of doing that. It can only have one live network connection at a time, either wired, or wireless.

There is bridging support in linux, but you'd certainly have to hack the tivo, and probably build some custom kernel modules not shipped by tivo. More trouble than it is worth, IMHO.

I wonder, if you plugged the wireless adapter into a USB hub, then multiple devices into the hub as well. Probably wouldn't work, but it's a fun thought!

as i understand it that wouldn't work since the drivers for the TiVo wireless adapter reside on the TiVo. what will work is plugging an ethernet to wireless bridge into an ethernet hub and then plugging multiple ethernet devices into the hub.
