One tuner not receiving all channels

One CableCard on my TiVoHD seemed to lose the ability to tune some channels (Cablevision system) yesterday. Initially it was just channel 37 (TNT) but later that channel returned but I lost 38 (USA) & above with the exception of 702, 705, 707 (essentially the HD versions of the local channels). The other card was fine. While checking which channels I could tune or not tune I noticed that Channel 40 (FX) showed a ’no signal’ warning screen. On the TiVoHD’s diagnostic screen, the modulation is switching back and forth between QAM 64 & QAM 256 with a frequency of 519000 KHz. It can’t achieve a signal lock.

The CableCards (NDS cards) were replaced recently after the same thing happened late last month. The new cards worked OK for about two weeks. When the guy replaced the cards he also replaced a nasty three way splitter outside the house.

Could this possibly be a signal strength issue?

It's not your CC, it's probably 9.3. I have the same problem and i don't use CC's; just analog cable and OTA. I would lose one tuner first, then the other one just about everyday. Reboots generally will fix the issue temporarily.

I am really regretting owning my 2 S3 LT's.. the S2ST LT is keeping me sane though.

I'll try a reboot tomorrow AM and see if that helps. It didn't the last time this happened but I'll give it a shot

I know with comcast if you change your lineup ie add or remove premium channels, that the tech sometimes will reasign your outlets, IE. put your modem on the cable card outlet and the cable card on the modem outlet, in their headend system. This happened to me twice. you have to call and have the tech set up a new outlet for the card have it re paired. then delete the modem outlet and the old card and have him reactivate your cable modem. I am not sure if this is whats happening with you but it took my local truck tech about 3 weeks to figure out why this was happening. If you dont have then remove the old outlet they may bill you for an extra outlet charge
