Question Tivodesktop.exe/tivoserver.exe high CPU issues

Hi,

I have searched extensively and tried uninstalling and cleaning out the tivo software in hopes of fixing a high cpu utilization.

It all started when I reformatted my computer and reinstalled tivo desktop 2.5.1. First, it wouldnt load and would always time out. Then i upgraded to 2.6.1 hoping it worked, and it did, for the 1st time.
The next time I restarted my entire computer was running slow. The tivoserver.exe was at 99% and would not go down. then i shut it down and it restarted itself....its like malware at this point.

So i reverted back to 2.5.1 and the same thing happened. the 1st time it loaded and then it started using high cpu.

Yes, it could be my computer showing its age, but it used to run fine before the format.

Do you have any suggestions for how to lower the CPU utilization back to the 20-50% It works great for the 1st run until to turn off or restart my computer.

I have to uninstall it just so i can use my computer for other things.

I've had this happen 2 or 3 times myself, running 2.6.1.
I notice my computer running slow, open task manager and find that tivoserver is using 99% of the CPU, and I have nothing Tivo related going on.

I just end the process in task manager, then right click the Tivo icon and restart the server.
That usually takes care of the problem for me.

Having said that, whatever is causing the CPU "hijack" needs to be fixed.
Isn't it bad for a CPU to run at near 100% like that?

ya its not too good to keep the cpu cycle at 100%.

Which .exe do you kill? Everytime i try and end it, it pops back up with 100% as soon as i restart it.

TivoServer.exe
I've never had a problem upon restarting it (yet, KOW).
