Reboot daily

On my 3 of 8 hacked dtivo's I continue to lose my locals on the 72.5 sat. They are the dtivo's with the longest run of cable. A reboot brings them back and the next day they are gone.

Not sure what to change in the root file to make them boot daily, my file say's this now

25 9 * * 1,4 echo "`date` SCHEDULED REBOOT"; reboot >> /var/log/cronlog-main

Thanks
Rick

This should do it

25 9 * * * echo "`date` SCHEDULED REBOOT" >> var/log/cronlog-main; sync; reboot

You might want to look at this safe reboot script (there may be newer ones around, I'd search.) Seems dicey to force a reboot without knowing what the unit is doing.

The problem is the zinwell switch. I am using the 6x6 zinwell when I set it up that was biggest switch dtv had. I see zinwell now has a 6x16 switch bit kinda pricey. I need 16 lines so by a lot of trial and error I am setup using a zinwell 6x6 flexport switch connected to another powered switch to get the 16 lines. The zinwell 6x6 is not cascable as I tried that. That messed all my tivo's up. I had lot's of blank recordings as the zinwell when cascaded does not like to switch between channels. The way I am setup now the 101 sat works fine just a problem with the 72.5 sat (locals). I don't know if the 6x16 would work better or not dtv tech support just says dtivo's are bad so I would need to buy the switch myself to try it.

I know at some point the 72.5 setup is going away but when is any body's guess. So for now the reboot fixes the problem.

Thanks
Rick
