I know Tivo has added lots of different networking options over the years. I began thinking about their homemovies. I don't use this because I would have to pay for the service. However, because Tivo is basically a computer. I wonder if Tivo Inc. would give any thought to sending an update through to allow the use of a webcam. Something like this would be awesome, because I do like how Tivo seems to make everything user friendly and uh lets face it there are a lot of people out there who would struggle with this type of setup even on a computer.
Does anyone think something like this could be possible? I mean xbox 360 & playstation 3 have such a thing.
On a different note, if I were to setup a pc to my tv. What would be the best way to view a webcam conversation? I mean, should I just go through MSN Messenger or is there anything new and groundbreaking out there.
Lastly, all this has come about from a tv commercial I saw here in Phoenix for Qwest. In the commercial, a gentleman was talking on his cell phone with his daughter in europe. Once he got home, he set his cell phone down and picked up his home/landline phone and began talking to her without hanging up. Then he turned on his tv to see his daughter and her boyfriend in which he held up a letter asking for the fathers permission to marry him. The whole technology just astounded me. I am just curious how I would be able to setup such a thing. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks
