New Hard Drive and my HD tivo is freezing! Help!

Hello,

I had a WD 1TB drive in my HD Tivo that I used WinMFS to copy over from the original 160GB.

Then, for noise reasons, I used WinMFS to copy the contents of the WD 1TB over to a Seagate DB35.3 750G drive.

However, I just had my 2nd Tivo freeze in 2 days. I've never had a freeze before?

Been running on this new hard drive about a week.

How can I fix this?

Pull the drive, attach to PC, and run the HD manufacturer's drive test software for a full surface scan (read not write).

I recently installed a WD 1TB in my THD, and after a few days I was getting similar freezes. I pulled the drive and ran WD's full-surface scan and it found errors. The same surface scan succeeded before installing in the THD. Infant mortality?

I RMAed the drive with WD, and the replacement has been fine for several weeks.

I ran the scan (seatools for windows)

Tried both short and long.

They passed!

But I popped the drive back in, and a couple hours later.... FREEZE

This is different than the other freeze people are tlaking about with 9.3. When mine freezes, there is no sound, the video is frozen, and nothing works on the remote.

Have you tried reinstalling the original drive, and checking the results?

Or, reinstalling the 1TB drive, and checking?

How about restoring the image from the original drive to the Seagates?
