I currently have a Series 2 DT and optimum cable.

I am about to switch to FIOS and want to keep Tivo .

I realise that the DT will only likely record one channel not two so am considering the TivoHD.

I have read a thousand threads on problems associated with Tivo and FIOS; do you think I would be better waiting to upgrade and just live with the DT as a ST in the short term?

If I do go with the TivoHD, is the Lifetime offer such that I can upgrade my Tivo later and keep lifetime or is is model specific (the latter I think but verification would be welcomed).

Get the HD and remember that people post about their problems and not as much about "mine works as advertised" - I think that you'll be really happy with the HD.

I think you would be better off not reading the "thousands" of threads and realize it is just a handful of problems typical of any such Consumer Electronics as a DVR,

FIOS supports Tivo with cable card just fine. I wish it was in my area.
