Eli Stone, "Heartbeat" 04/03/08

I really like this show - it's written pretty good. Too bad the number of viewers is down.

Love how Eli figured out what Nathan dealt with surrounding their fathers death.

EDIT: Just realized that Maggie Dekker is played by Julie Gonzalo (from Veronica Mars).

Yep, that's her. Given a choice between Maggie and Taylor, I'd take Maggie.

Good show...good episode.

It was interesting that on his deathbed Eli's dad said he was "sorry Eli"....but Eli was in the body of his brother at the time...so how did dad, 10 years ago, realize it was Eli?

Probably the same way Eli traveled back 10 years and experienced it from inside his brothers body.

Julie Gonzalo looks exactly like Denise Richards to me.

That was the whole point.

In that one last flashback, even though he'd been his brother in all the others, and he thought he was his brother again at the beginning of this one, in this one last and final time, he was Eli. So, his "gift" allowed him to finally, 10 years late, have the final moment with his father that he was originally deprived.

I thought it was a beautifully done scene.

So I watched this at a friend's and basically missed the entire middle of the show (everyone was talking, I enjoy the show but I don't tape it.)

So I saw the beginning and the end. Did he ever figure out what was different with the assistant?

She was wearing an engagement ring. Bummed him out when he realized what it was, obviously.

My listings say that the final three episodes will air Thursday, Sunday (!) and the following Thursday (4/17). Can anyone confirm this?

Let me check my TiVo...

By gosh you're right.

Well, I don't know that they're the final three episodes. But I assume so.

Once again, they get assigned a case at the Monday staff meeting and are in court later in the week. Clearly someone on the writing staff has had some legal training, so I find it unbelievable that they continue to portray legal work like this.

But I like the story and am interested to see where it's going. Will Nate now refuse to let him get the surgery?

Wow, I did not recognize Maggie as being Parker from VM.

Does anyone know who the actress was that played Nate's old girlfriend (the nurse - I think her name was Kerry?). She looked familiar but I couldn't place where I'd seen her before.

This is San Francisco, where the wheels of justice spin exceedingly fast.

According to imdb.com, her name is Andrea Bogart

Agreed! It made me tear up! Love this show!!!!

I was wondering if they were going to have a follow up with Eli asking his brother if his Dad thought it was him when he died...but I guess that would not have worked structurally for how they ended the show. And it was probably overkill.
