When I listen to my cable providers music stations I like to turn off the TV display (Panasonic Plasma) to save electricity and improve plasma life. However when I turn off the TV it will cause my receiver to drop audio while it resets the audio format.
The setup is like this.
TIVO HD -> Plasma is HDMI
TIVO HD -> receiver is Digital Optic
There is no direct connection from the receiver to the Plasma.
I'm confused as to how turning off the TV will cause any response in the receiver since there is no direct connection between the two.
Is turning off the Plasma causing some sort of signal to go back through the HDMI cable to the TIVO and then resulting in another signal change going down the optic cable to the receiver?
Has anyone else seen this and if so is there a way to minimize or remove this issue?
thanks
