Comcast Tivo coming to Portland, OR

What, no post yet? Via engadget.

Comcast TiVo headed to Portland, Oregon?

Along with gigantic patches of FiOS availability, New England is also basking in the glory of having Comcast TiVo all to itself. Thankfully, all that could be changing. According to a report from a Comcast user in the Portland, Oregon area, two different installers informed him that Comcast TiVo would be making its way into the area in the not-too-distant future (read: summertime). Of course, we kinda sorta knew the technology would eventually spread from the Northeast, but we're eager to see if in fact it'll hit up any more states on its (hopeful) trip west.

This is a good sign that Comcast TiVo is progressing. I know some folks were worried that Comcast wasn't very serious about their offering, especially since there seems to be some bugs with the software and installs requiring truck rolls for now due to low signals.

This is a very positive sign that Comcast is indeed serious about their TiVo offering. I can't wait until the nationwide rollout is annouced.

I haven't been able to confirm this specific location with TiVo or Comcast today, though both tell me additional regions will come online later this year and Comcast will be the entity to publicize those specific locales and timing.

Maybe Portland has similar head end and middleware and flavor of MOT boxes deployed to Boston, making it a good second market.
