Are Tivo wireless adapters the only ones that support WPA?

Or do you just have to have the latest Tivo software?

The Adapter is a Linksys WUSB11 Wireless-B Driver 2.6

Yes. TiVo adapter is the only one that supports WPA

On the plus side you can get the TiVo adapter for $20 less at Amazon...

Or you could get an ethernet bridge (I recommend a DD-WRT router) for as little as $20-$30 and connect it as wired ethernet to you TiVo and it can do WPA to your wireless router eleswhere in your house. If you have a Series 3, TiVo HD or Series 2 Dual Tuner that has built in ethernet it is that cheap and easy.

If you don't have built in ethernet you would also need a compatible USB ethernet adapter, just make sure you get a USB 2.0 adapter from the known to work list.

If you have to go the Bridge+Ethernet adapter route, you may be just as well off purchasing the TiVo adapter.

If you have multiple networked devices a bridge could be more cost effective since most support 3 or 4 ports. In my case, I have a XBox 360, a slingbox, and a TiVo so I use a Airport Extreme to extend my network (ok, the airport wasn't cost effective, but it works very well).

I was going to say nearly the exact same thing as Rainwater. A bridge with multiple ports let me connect a Tivo S1, Tivo HD, Playstation, Wii and a Slingbox.

A Tivo network adapter is sometimes a correct short term answer that will cost you in the long run.
