As for the other issues being reported, please know that we are actively investigating issues that can be reproduced.

There is a rare bug affecting some DCH 3416 set-top boxes which may cause the box to go into a perpetual reboot loop (with the front-panel display showing 8888) when the box is power-cycled. If your DVR gets into this state, please call 1-800-Comcast. This bug will be fixed with the new firmware that will be rolled out with the next software update starting in mid-March.

Users should avoid restarting or power-cycling their set-top boxes unless absolutely necessary. Certain issues (such as black screens or green screens) can sometimes be corrected with channel changes or tuner swaps without requiring a restart. If a restart is absolutely necessary, instead of pulling the plug to power-cycle the DVR, if possible you should go to TiVo Central, then Settings & Parental Controls, then Restart the DVR, to perform a soft reset. If this does not restore service, please call Comcast for assistance.

They should have a early adopter priority list so they can get some real user feedback before the "big" rollout.

Any update on this? Is it still schedule for mid march? if so thats only a few days away.

And when they do release this, any ideas on how it will be deployed? Automatically?...at night? Will we need to initiate something? I'd love to just wake up one morning and have things fixed (although there doesn't seem to be any mention of resolving the green screens which is my major problem; and unfortunately I am only able to get out of this 20% of the time).

I'm about to start getting very pessimistic. If this box goes crazy 8 on me, too, I will cancel Tivo. As I type this, I just got another intrusive suggestion.

I don't claim its coming. If you followed my link, a comcast rep that oversee's the comcast TiVo claims its coming. And word has it that it is coming this week. When the new update hits, you will read about it here in a brand new thread. As of right now, the update hasn't been pushed. stay tuned.

request a DCT3416 legacy box when you call, those wont go crazy 8's, only the DCH boxes

Rumor on the AVS forums is that the update is coming in early April. We shall see.
