New to Directtv HD plus DVR
Hey guys I just got my HR21 installed today and I'm having issues with it tonight I have American Idol recording and I missed the first 10 minutes of it so I went to my playlist and started playing it from the beginning and it plays for like 3 seconds then the voice cuts out and the video freezes like I have it paused...When I'm watching it live it works fine but playback freezes.
Has anyone seen this happen before and if so is it fixable or do I need to call Directv and have them replace my unit.

Be careful.
This is a TiVo DVR forum.
Someone is likely to rag on you any minute now for asking a question about a non-TiVo DVR.

I have the HR20, so I'm probably not much help, but if you head over to dbstalk.com they have a forum specifically for the HR21.

I'm here to rag, but not on the OP.
This sticky now says it is okay to mention the non-TiVo DVRs.

However, the DBSTalk forum is the better place for specific questions concerning non-TiVo units.

DBS is a better forum for the HR21. But I can tell you that I've had my HR21 for a week or two and had this happen numerous times already. Seems the HR21 gets confused with multiple things to do at once like a windows machine and you get the problem your seeing.
Thats the reason I still have my HR10-250

Definitely check the HR21 threads on DBSTalk.
I haven't had any problems with my HR20-100.

Let me get this straight - you rag on the first 2 responders because they suggest this discussion would be more fruitful over at the other forum and now all of a sudden you've suddenly seen the light and are suggesting to the op that he go check out another forum

Umm, no he didn't. He mentioned that we CAN talk about the HR21 here, but he would get much better help/info at DBstalk. He is right.
And if you're HR21 is locking up, and if you got the updated National Release this week, there might be something wrong with your box. Go into Menu - Setup, and look when the last software update was downloaded. If it says this week, call DTV. If it says months ago, wait for the new release and see if it fixes your problem.
