I'm working on getting a mac mini to talk to a tivo for video transfers. Not going well, but I'm working on it. I transferred a dvd rip of a movie to the tivo on an occasion when it was working. The rip was clean, but the transfer had glitches and skips. Now the rip was at full resolution so what played well looked very good, but it was quite a big file. Anyone have any idea of what an acceptable amount of compression would be? And what might have caused the skipping?
