Tivo.Net altermative or Vista install soluition

Been using the latest Tivo.net 9.8 on XP. with no problems. I lost my OS and I figured it was time to finally install Vista as I've had it setting here for several months now (ultiumate). Things went fairly smoothly; mostly driver problems in the past, but it seems that Vista has all my drivers and all my programs are now working, outside of Tivo.net.

It there a work around for installing Tivo.net on a Vista ultimate system? If not is there an alternate program that does the same thing as Tivo.net. I would like to transfer my .avi files to any of my two Tivo's.

Thanks....

Well that would be pyTivo. (But I haven't tried either Tivo.Net nor pyTivo on Vista myself.)

Yea, I have seen that but you need to install support programs to get it it work. However, I'll back up my system and give it a go.

Thx...

I just gave pyTivo a go on Vista. Had to disable UAC before it stopped throwing errors, but seems to be working fine now.

Only support program you need to install is Python 2.5.1 for Windows.

I've complied Tivo.Net before. Maybe I will give that another shot using VS 2008 and see what comes of it.

Me too. Let me know if you do get Tivo.net to work. I'm not sure if I'm operating pyTivo correctly. I have a main folder and under that I have subfolders. By selecting the main folder in the .conf file it fails to populate the subfolders. It does show the folders on the Tivo but not the files inside. Maybe I didn't wait long enough.

For testing, I would point it to a simple folder without subfolders to be sure you are not having any sort of firewall issues. Make sure everything is working before trying to get subfolders going.

It is a C# application (which uses the MS .NET framework, hence the .Net name) to transcode video and send to your Tivo via TTCB.

Does much the same as pyTivo (which is still being developed, Tivo.Net is dead). But pyTivo is written using Python scripting.

It's a bug in pyTivo. The workaround that I've found is to go into Suggestions, and select a show to view its details. This somehow resets the cached folder view that pyTivo has. Then you can go back into a pyTivo folder and its contents should be accurate. Of course, then you'll need to do the Suggestions trick again to be able to view the content of a different folder.
