Partial Movie Transfer - TivoBack

I have been reading posts about transferring files to Tivo and I have been able to get it to work successfully on my Mac. My problem now is that for some files it only transfers part of the movie. I have an old IBM compatible that I use to convert the files, but I can't get Tivo Desktop to work on it, so I have to move the mpeg files on to my Mac and then transfer them to my Tivo. I am using WinAVI (on my desktop) and the conversion is fine to mpeg, the entire movie is there but when I transfer the files to tivo, only a port ion of the movie makes it on to the Tivo.

For one movie in particular, no matter how many times I transfer the movie to my Tivo, I only get 39 minutes of movie on my Tivo. If I convert the movie again, the number of minutes will change, but I still only have a portion of the movie.

Can anyone offer any assistance? Is someone else having the same problem?

You are probably having a problem with the exact format you are using for your mpeg conversion. Look at the recomendations on TiVo's help web page for this.

Also especially try 48khz @192kbps audio (mp2). Stay with standard (TiVo) resolutions like 720x480 or 352x480 or 480x480, 29.97 fps and reasonable bit rates.

You didn't give much detail otherwise, so I can't be very specific.
