After finding an old used RCA D* box with a serial connection I was very happy. It solved my channel changing failure problems.
Unfortunately it seems to have died in less that 6 months, unless I'm missing something. It was a PITA to get D* to marry the card to my receiver from another receiver that had died earlier.
What happened is last night the picture froze and I got vertical bars. So I turned on the receiver. It has not turned on since.
When I unplug the receiver there's a small spark, so I know power is going to the unit but it just won't turn on.
I've tried unplugging, removing access card, and really that's all I know to try. Any other suggestions? Is there any point to opening the case to look for anything or no?
