Life 11/28/2007 (S01E09) "Serious Control Issues"
I'm really rather anxious for some of the other side of Crews' story to come out... like exactly why Internal Affairs is so anxious to see him gone, and same with the Lieutenant.
I wonder if they cast Nate's real dad purposefully to have a somewhat mad look, especially after Crews made such a deal about how he "knew" Ray's type. I just had the impression there at the end that the kid wasn't going to have an easy time with him.

I like the two-crime episode. Very refreshing.
Now the big question is if Crews can get anywhere with his own investigation, now that it's known he has been conducting one. Also, Dani's father doesn't seem to be guilty, since Charlie laid out all he had on the case. Maybe they'll be working together, which will drive Dani up the wall (and maybe lead to more booze and sex)?

I think the reason is that,, why would he stick around with 50 million dollars. they know he is investigating things and he may come up with stuff they don't want uncovered.
And cops never think anyone is innocent and don't like him hanging around the dept showing them that some people are innocent.

I'm not a cop but the idea that the father and son would have seperated never occured to me at all, did that seems like a strange conclusion to anyone else?

It was a ridiculous conclusion, and a silly notion that that conclusion would make the search so much easier. But, typical of this show. I'm sure its hard to create characters smarter than yourself, solving problems you couldn't begin to crack, but some of the writing on this show is terribly weak.
Also funny was Crew's inspired realization that a house full of kittens should eventually turn into a house full of cats. Seriously, who didn't think of that the moment someone said "kittens" for the first time.
Then there was the pointless IAD investigation. One smart-arse answer and she throws up her hands in defeat. A real bulldog that one.
I guess I should cancel this show, but I'm too curious about Crew's investigation.

It wasn't that they would *eventually* turn into cats. It's the fact he realized that there were no adult cats in the house -- just kittens -- and that's strange. The parents had to be somewhere, and it's not really a stretch to figure the freak who you strongly suspect of murdering a young girl killed the adult cats.

My Tivo cut off at 50 minutes. The scene was that they had just pulled up on the "Dad" (with no Nate in sight). He played dumb and acted as if he didn't know who Nate was.
Then they went to commercial.
What did I miss?

They used the "dad" as bait to bring the kid in - they took "dad" into the station, and put out alerts saying he was being charged with the murder of the kid. The kid eventually shows up at the station to clear his "dad's" name. The real parents of the kid are in the Lieutenant's office and see him through the window for the first time in over 10 years - that was pretty powerful. After they let the kid look at the "dad" one last time, Crews is supposed to take the kid "downstairs" to child protective services or some similar place, but instead he takes the kid upstairs to the roof and they sit in a helicopter. The kid is realizing his "dad" really had abducted him and he is messed up. Crews tells him he'll always be different from everyone else, but he can make it through. When asked how he knows, Crews says because he (Crews) did.

Lt. Davis was Calamity Jane! It took nine episodes, but I figured it out on my own w/o looking it up on IMDb. I feel better now. Thanks for listening.
Now back to the regularly scheduled topic of discussion.
