New Charter channels missing...

All,
Here in Pasadena Charter was supposed to activate several new SD and HD channels. Often my Series 3 will show a message that new channels have been detected. This happened about 2 weeks ago though with an OTA subchannel. My Series 3 doesn't show the new channels. And, the Tivo online scheduling web site doesn't have them either. As an aside, they were also supposed to bump my cable modem speed from 3 to 5mbps, and a test of that yesterday showed that isn't the case either.

I'm wondering if there is something that I need to do on my end with the Tivo, or should this be seamless to me and somehow the cablecard(s) automatically get told that there are new channels available?

Only thing that comes to mind that I could do would be to rerun the guided setup that checks for channels. Not sure whether that starts off a sequence that causes the cablecard to ask the head end what the current channel lineup is or not.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Robert

P.S. As an aside I would add that my 2 packages that I purchase (HD and Sports) often go away completely after the Tivo reboots. I'm getting reboots every couple of weeks on average. I used to call the Charter help line, but found that this didn't usually do any good. The last time I checked both cablecards were able to tune all the channels in those packages. It seems as though the entire process of the cable company keeping the cablecards receiving all my channels is not finctioning very well. It should be able to handle periodic reboots of the Series 3 and recover gracefully...

Connect to the tivo service to see if an update comes down. My guide data was a couple of days behind them actually rolling out the new channels.

you can go to this link and inform TiVo of any lineup change that you are aware of. I received a mail out with a list of changes and the dates they would change TiVo had the changes on the same day Charter updated the line-up.

Ok,
Figured it out. I needed to go into:
Messages and settings->
Settings->
Channels->
Channel list

The new channels were in there, but I needed to check them as being received so they would appear in the guide. 4 new HD channels, woo-hoo !

Thanks,
Robert
