Tivo HD too noisy for bedroom?

We have a Series 3 hooked up to the a/v system in our den, with FIOS, and love it.

Now that MRV is permitted, I want to replace the FIOS boxes in our bedroom and in our workout room with Tivo HDs (or is that "Tivos HD"?). But I'm concerned a bit about the one in the bedroom.

I already confirmed online that the LEDs on the front of the unit can be turned off, so that's not a problem.

But how noisy is the disk drive in the Tivo HD? I'd hate to buy it and then get have to get rid of it because it interferes with sleep.

Anyone have one of these in a bedroom?

Yes.

Very quiet. Even after I added a CinemaStar 1TB drive in an Antec Housing.

Buy it and enjoy.

I had some harmonic vibration for the first couple of hours and worried I couldn't live with it even in the den. But, I guess it heated up and the expansion quietened it down. I don't even notice it now.

The A/V class drives are very quiet.

My old S2 is loud enough to hear the whirring in the living room. Maybe that's just because it's old. I just got an HD, and it's almost silent.

I added the Seagate 750GB DB35 (quieter unit) internally, and I can't hear a thing.

The S2 is just load to begin with and it only gets louder with time as the dust builds up on the fan. I replaced my S2's fan which brought it back tolerable in the living room, but I can still hear it even inside a closed entertainment center (back is open).

My S3 is whisper silent and it's sitting out in the open. Occasionally I'll hear the drive, but the fan is silent. The HD is similar.

I have a stock TivoHD in my bedroom, and it's as quiet as can be. I've never noticed the noise.

I can hear the hard drive in a silent room even though the Acoustic Management is set to 128. But normally there is a little ambient noise so I can't here. I'd rather hear the tiVo anyway than the crickets chirping outside.
