TTCB, video in NPL, but won't transfer
i'm sure i'm missing something simple, but since i'm new to this, i was hoping for some help. i placed a small video (mpeg) into the 'my tivo recordings' folder on my pc, and i do see it on my tivoHD's NPL, but when i try to transfer it, it shows some error, and instructs me to see the recording history for more info, which there isn't anything there to help me. i have not upgraded to Tivo desktop plus, is this why i cannot use ttcb? or do i have to convert the video file to .tivo?

If it's a plain MPEG-2 file, it should transfer without needing TiVo Desktop Plus.
What was the reason for the failed transfer in the Recording History?

the video is an mpeg, but i'm not sure if its -2. woulld that show in its properties?
the error in the history list said drive is full, but its not, so i think it must be something else, which led me to post here. thanx for responding. the video was made from my digicam. i dl'd videora tivo converter to try and see if that would help, but the same error was reported.

Is it possible you don't have enough free space on the TiVo to transfer the file? If you're not sure, check to see how many Suggestions you have (or how many files are in your Recently Deleted folder) to get a general idea.
Yes, if you check the file properties in WMP it should tell you the format. Do you have a smaller file you could test with?

Ok, yeah, if it's only 18 seconds the "not enough space" error is probably bogus.
So it might be a format issue ... double check that it is indeed MPEG-2. There are some guidelines for MPEG-2 files on this page:

i got it to work with tivo.net. i wasnt about to spend more than an hour screwing with ttg 2.5.1. i'm so happy. i was able to transfer the video to my tivoHD. i'm very grateful to the authors of tivo.net, as there program was simple to work, but i did need to create the folder to store the video's, which seemed odd.
