"Give me a break, give me a break, break me off a piece of that mmm mmm mmm. I'm drawing a blank here. ............Apple sauce."
"Break me off a piece of that apple sauce. I don't think..."
"A piece of that Chrysler car."
"Nope."
Football cream."
"That's it. It's football cream."

"I find the mystery genre disgusting. I hate being titillated."

"She said Oh, D."
"Oh D."
"oh D."
"OH D, HAHAHHHAHHAHAHHA" (If only Andy knew that Angela calls Dwight D.)

"Pam, please clear my phone lines."
"Ok. Beep beep boop beep beep beep. Ok, clear."

I liked when they were watching the ad, Dwight looked over at Angela and Angela looked down, it looked like she felt guilty. She and Dwight need to get back together, they are perfect for each other.

Moping Dwight has run it's course. Glad to see it may be coming to an end.

You need to get more in touch with your culture.

Indeed.

Their ad was actually very good!

The corporate ad actually did suck!

I think something that we're seeing develop is that just as Michael is a demonstration of The Peter Principle in that he has risen to the level of his incompetence, Ryan has now risen to the level of his incompetence.

The ad that Michael directed was very good. Michael is an excellent salesman after all (just an incompetent sales manager). His ideas on how to sell are insightful and clever.

The ad that Ryan "delegated" sucked, demonstrating Ryan having risen to the level of his incompetence.

I'm awaiting the fate of Ryan. Michael has managed to survive as a manager despite his incompetence. Will Ryan survive as well, or being more under the microscope at corporate, will he get fired?

It kind of weird because last night on CSI:NY the episode was based around Second Life.

The Oh D! scene is the best 45 second spot this entire season. I read people laying claim to falling out of their seats laughing about this or that, but for me that was fall out of my seat funny.

Dwight's head on the vending machine right before he started to say Oh, D was incredible!

Best line of the season has to be "What is a Jim?"

Best episode of the season, by far. This is another one of those I can watch over and over and over.

From Wikipedia, The Peter Principle:
Quote:
A second complication is that entry-level jobs that are detail oriented and restrictive favour detail-oriented workers, yet hinder creative and innovative workers. By definition and necessity, entry-level jobs are the assembly line of an organization, and thus the most creative and innovative employees start in positions of incompetence. The detail-oriented persons are thus promoted over the creative employees. Often these creative employees are incapable of showing their work strengths because of the structured and restrictive assembly line environments, and then are tagged as bad employees.
In reality, creative employees may be more suited to management jobs, but, because they are unable to use their strengths in the low-level jobs they hold, they never rise to management, and the innate flexibility and innovation needed for managing is lost to the company. The end result for an organization as a whole is that the organization will collapse when incompetents in the ranks outnumber the competent, resulting in the organization's inability to produce results.

... and even MORE Wegmans store-brand product placement. "D" (Andy) was drinking their store-brand soda, "WPOP", during the 'Oh D!' scene!

Great episode!

Michael's ad, better produced .. was better hands down.

I kept thinking the man running through Staples was really over the top.. and it HAD to be a rough cut.

I see that it wasn't

I missed that but always recognized the Herrs chips (located on the MD/PA border) and utz as well in the vending machine. Wonder how much it costs to get your product on?

I liked the episode overall, but the Second Life segment felt more like product placement than anything relevant to the episode. I didn't find the SL segments humorous or beneficial to the episode at all.

I'm wondering if it's something where they're laying groundwork for a future episode, or just threw it in for the pop culture factor.

It seeemed a bit out of place to me too. But as I had actually never seen Second Life before (tried installing, but it says my video card isn't compatible) I found it interesting.

I liked it when Pam turned it around on Jim and commented more on his 2nd Life persona than on Dwight's. I also liked that Dwight was STILL just Assistant to the Regional Manager in 2nd Life.

I was waiting for Dwight to do a sale in Second Life.

Yeah I was pretty surprised at how good it was, I thought it was better than Corporate's ad as well.

Anybody else get the feeling they're laying the seeds for PB&J issues? Jim wasn't pleased with her working late, and was a little insecure about the guy at the bar hitting on her.

I had that thought, too. Though, when he called her from his desk and had the breakfast for her, that thought went away.
