Is Jeopardy now just one long Sony commercial?

I don't watch Jeopardy much anymore. I happened to see it last night and it appeared to be just one long commercial for Sony's crap. Is it frequently like that?

Maybe once or twice a year it looks like someone sponsors that particular show. Annoying when it happens, but not enough to turn me off to Jeopardy.

They do have categories with commercial tie-ins, like the NY Times, National Geographic. Occaisionally there will be a category where they're all video and it's Jeff Probst in his Survivor outfit asking the questions.

This Sony one was the most annoying, including Alex mentioning Sony headquarters on his way to the stage at the beginning.

It could have been worse -- the category was only called "Electronica"; it could have been "Sony Electronica," or "Awesome Sony Products," or something like that, and they could have displayed the actual Sony logo in the category title on the board.

But I'm still a little confused how one category out of 12 (5 clues out of 61) constitutes the entire show being "just one long commercial for Sony's crap" in the mind of the original poster.

I watch for the questions, so I've never noticed anything untoward - not like WoF!

The problem is, Sony ended up installing a rootkit on the computer that runs the big board.

How about a category of "Proprietary Sony Formats"?

Could have been worse, it could have been sponsored by "Head On"
